We are first time dog owners. I am 41 and my wife is 41. Our daughters are 8 and 10 years old. We are looking for a family dog and have been looking off and on for 4 years. The desire to get a family dog will not subside and so we are ready to engage with an ethical breeder and do it right with proper training and love.

My wife works from home 3 days a week and I work down the street but come home for lunch a lot. By any measure, we are a great fit for a family dog. We have a Vet lined up and are interviewing potential trainers and other consultants that can help get our home ready, etc.
